I'm looking into buying RAM for my iMac and noticed that they have a 6gb kit.

I thought 4gb was the max. Does anyone have experience with the 6gb kit?

I've seen this with macsales before and it works. I've heard they use denser chips and it allows the computer to use more memory than their original specs. I did this with 2 iMacs that Apples says is limited to 3 GB and they both are running with 4 gb of memory from macSales.

The new Imac's can hold 8 gigs. They take 2, 4 gig chips. No idea if they would work in the older iMacs tho.

That sounds good, I'll have to consider the 6gb upgrade.
