OpenCore Legacy Patcher
Thanks Joe. I have a 2012 mini at home I will try this on this weekend. I'm excited.

Had to revert my Late 2013 iMac back to Catalina after the Monterey 12.2.1 update that it installed last night. The update disabled Metal support on the GPU and it made EVERYTHING slow and jerky and web browsers would not load pages. It was basically unusable and I didn't want to have this fight every time a new update comes out. I will stick with Catalina until this old iMac dies. I guess there is a good reason why Apple removes support for older models.

Talking to myself again...

I have Monterey 12.2.1 running again on my unsupported 2013 iMac. OpenCore came out with patch for the Video Card GPU bringing back Metal support. All updated and working fine again. Walk through for installing Monterey on an unsupported Mac.

Thanks for the update Joe, I noticed in the past week or so that things have been a bit jerky and slow too on my 2012 mini, since I did an update. I was figuring it's just time to finally bite the bullet and buy myself a (dare I say it) new Mac. I think my late new one was a Centris 610 when I was in college. Ever since then, they have been used ones.

But I really want to try the M1 chip. So been think for the past couple of months of getting a Mac mini M1. And the Apple card payment is really nice. Monthly payment with no interest.

And then I could keep this older mini around for other stuff. Maybe a NAS? As I'm not worried about speed, as it will be just for home, and probably cheaper than buying a Synology.

My late 2013 iMac video card supported Metal before the update to Monterey 12.2.1 which removed it thanks to Apples ongoing war with NVIDIA. If your card in the 2012 supported Metal before the update you can apply the update and fix it. If it didn't support Metal you either have to live with it or revert back 12.2 or even Big Sur. It shows how to do the patch in the link in my previous post.

I'd love to have an M1 Mac but just don't use a computer for much these days to justify the cost which is why I wanted to extend the life of this 2013 iMac.

Quote from: pspdfppdfxhd on February 25, 2022, 10:25:06 AMHmmm, thought I had posted this previously but maybe I only hit the preview button.

We have BigSur up and running, using the latest pitstop and Acrobat, but Acrobat is buggy as hell. When ever you go from one page to the next you give a double flash, it's crazy. Mostly when the output preview is open. I am concerned that I may have a seizure here. :o

I get the same thing, I feel better now, I thought the video card was going.
