.msx image format?
« on: August 03, 2012, 08:28:36 AM »
I have a job that the customer has a link that is:
image.msx.C
image.msx.eps
image.msx.M
image.msx.Y

I vaguely remember DCS files but I don't think these are DCS and I can't get these to RIP as OPI, fat EPS or as a PDF.

There has to be someway to get these layers into a single file. I mean we put a man on the moon, right?

I tried INDD CS6, QXP 8, PS CS6 but they all threw errors.

I can't even place the individual colors, only the EPS.

Any ideas?

Sounds like they saved it as a DCS with multiple files, but why????!!!???

Worst case, you could open a new file and then cut and paste in the channels... or ask for a new single file.

As it turns out...

This job was Copixed (copy Dot) a million years ago from film.

I get to reprint a million year old job. Well I got one to work finally. Had to use OPI link in INDD CS4 with an EPS export.

I inherited a whole drawer full of those when i started, everyone was all excited that I had a Syquest drive at home. They lost their ability to use them a couple of years before.
I took them home and all the files were done in a program called F3. I still have no idea what that program was and nothing can open these files. Good thing they kept them around.
You know, just in case..... :sarcasm:

I remember F3, it came out right after F2, which was the revised updated F1...    :sarcasm:
