Just downloaded a PDF made from Quark. 830 megs for a little magazine.  That's riquarkulous. Indy would be 1/10th the size.

Don't underestimate designers. I get a regular one, 8 pages, 900+mb indy and links, makes a 4+gb pdf. I have to subsample out of indy.

Got an ad book to do and a bunch of supplied PDF's from CS6, both Illy and InDesign, and they are ripping as blank pages because they use an unsupported Device Grey blending space. I can flatten them in Acrobat and they rip but WTF is up with this?
Is this a new CS6 "feature" that is doing this or just poor design?

Try RIPping with the Transparency Blend Space set to CMYK (check box)
