I got a green light on the battery backup

I have another battery backup that I could switch out

Joe

Yeah ok I don't think yo0ur battery backup is the problem if it has a green light.

If you get a chance reboot the server and IF you see the message again tell us the exact message.

Restarted this morning and there was a lot of text
It said battery is not working or something to that effect
PCI slot 18
and then it said if. you are not using a battery press D
I have no idea if I'm using a battery.

Is there a way to check in preferences?
I'm a PC moron, no clue where to begin
I'm afraid to shut it down again, I may call someone today

Joe

Well there is probably a PCI card in slot 18. I don't really know what as I would need to see the entire message. Haven't really heard of a PCI card having a battery on it. Can you get a photo of the message while it is booting?

I found an events manager, it says battery not present.
also I see on 4-1-2019 it says battery removed-what the heck?

I put in a call for someone to come look at it
It may not be an issue but I have To do something, can't take a chance.
If he can't do anything I will put in a call to Fuji to look at it
Oh well he's going to have to pay for the phone call!

Thanks everyone!
not even going to attempt this myself!

Tracy

Ok found out my battery back up might be the problem
I'm going to switch them out and report back!

Possum

I used to have a battery backup. Mine was probably dead a long time before I found out. Of course, it was then just thrown out and not replaced. Oh, well, I don't run the company.
Tall tree, short ropes, fix stupid.

Joe

I think you jinxed me Tracy. Last night I noticed the red light was on our UPS to replace the batteries.

good thing you saw it!
Restarted today without battery backup, I don't think it's the battery backup
I'm getting a MR_Monitor warning looked it up I think it's an issue with a drive

BBU Disabled changing WB logical drive to WT
Forced WB VD's are not affected

I don't know how to do a screen shot on a PC
pretty sure I need a professional

I guess the only thing I need to figure out is
do I let the IT guy we hire now and then come in
or do I need to call Fuji

Joe

OK from that message it is saying to replace the Intel RAID Smart Battery, Intel recommends replacing it yearly.

Technical Product Specification for Intel® RAID Smart Battery AXXRSBBU3

You can try to get more information about the battery state: download the Command Line Tool appropriate for your OS (Windows Server 2008) from Intel Download Center, then run the following command:

CmdTool2 -AdpBbuCmd –aALL

I would call Fuji just so your boss can see why you might need a service contract when he gets the bill. But hey, I do these kinds of things just to be a PITA. YMMV...

Just saw the post about the Raid Battery
Thanks Joe!
I think I will try my IT guy first!

Ok IT guy is going to get the battery and replace it!
He said It's not critical and I will be ok for a few days
If it takes awhile to get the battery, whew!
