OpenCore Legacy Patcher
Thanks Joe. I have a 2012 mini at home I will try this on this weekend. I'm excited.

Had to revert my Late 2013 iMac back to Catalina after the Monterey 12.2.1 update that it installed last night. The update disabled Metal support on the GPU and it made EVERYTHING slow and jerky and web browsers would not load pages. It was basically unusable and I didn't want to have this fight every time a new update comes out. I will stick with Catalina until this old iMac dies. I guess there is a good reason why Apple removes support for older models.

Quote from: pspdfppdfxhd on January 11, 2022, 07:10:25 AMWe've finally reached the point where we have to upgrade from Mojave to Big Sur. Adobe applications are no longer compatible.

Entails upgrades to the RIP, Pitstop, Quite Imposing and QuarkXpress. :vomit: (one client still uses it). Just wondering if there is something I should look out for that might be a surprise.

Thanks.

Sooo.. I guess I had started this thread way back when, but there has been alot of water under the bridge since. Well, the startup issue was the control board. The part is going to be installed mid next week if it comes in as expected. The Mac repair guy gave us a loaner and put our hard drive in it so that's pretty cool. The windows box i remote to also needed a new control board. WTF? I went into work on Friday and both computers were gone! I felt like I was homeless or
something!

Fiery XF server would not activate on the pc because it was not deactivated beforehand. How can you do that when your pc dies? Anyway they were quick to respond and resolve the issue. I am still waiting for the VDP plugin company from Meadows to do the same on the loaner Mac.

So I will be going in AGAIN on this holiday weekend to at least get the Epson up and running.  We need to send a color proof out on Tuesday.

Cheers!  :drunk3:  :drunk3:

Pitstop and Quite Imposing were ok though. Funny thing about Pitstop... they let you deactivate and activate only once a month. But that's a good feature in this situation.

Joe

What is it they are calling a control board? Never heard of one in a Mac or a pc.

Mother board? Logic board? The big main board thingy.

Joe

Yes logic board on the Mac. Motherboard on the PC.

Hmmm, thought I had posted this previously but maybe I only hit the preview button.

We have BigSur up and running, using the latest pitstop and Acrobat, but Acrobat is buggy as hell. When ever you go from one page to the next you give a double flash, it's crazy. Mostly when the output preview is open. I am concerned that I may have a seizure here. :o

Joe

LOL...you always seem to have Acrobat issue. ;D What plug-ins do you have installed besides Pitstop?

Quite imposing.

Just let me be though, I have suffered enough with a failed board on a Mac and a PC at the same time. I will live with the flashing pdfs as long as I am able. My brain is turning to mush will all this going on.

On a brighter note it is friday. :drunk3: :drunk3: :drunk3:

Well it may be worth trying it with just Acrobat and Pitstop installed. If you still have issues you can rule out Quite Imposing. If you don't have issues you can safely blame Quite Imposing. At least you will known one way or the other.
